Standard Chartered Bank and Strathmore University’s iBizAfrica, have partnered to create the Standard Chartered Women in Tech Incubator. A program that supports female-led entrepreneurial teams by providing them with training, mentorship and seed funding.
The program will recruit the best entrepreneurial minds, women-led startup teams of 2 – 3 people leveraging on technology as a key driver of innovation in business.
10 selected contestants will then go through a 12 week incubation period at the end of which five final winners will be chosen. Each winner will be awarded US$10,000 seed funding to invest in their business.
“This is yet another year, another opportunity for more women in Kenya to apply for this programme and give their business a great chance at success,” said Strathmore University vice-chancellor designate Dr Vincent Ogutu.
Applicants are welcome from the general public, all schools, colleges and universities in Kenya and the principle founder must be a woman, above 18 years of age of Kenyan nationality or permanent residency.
