American online payments startup Stripe is planning expansion in the Middle East & Africa, after revelations from a recent job posting by the company.
The company is currently looking for a business development leader to join the Financial Partnerships team to accelerate the execution of Stripe’s go to market strategies in the Middle East and Africa.
The role which we will be based in London with frequent and extended multi-week international travel will be responsible for defining and executing all aspects of the partnerships with financial institutions, acquirers, and card networks needed for Stripe to enter high impact regional markets.
Stripe which is currently the most valuable private FinTech company in the world at US$22.5 billion and is live in 26 markets with plans to expand to more markets in 2019.
But Stripe had already made an entry into the African payment space after leading a US$8 million in a Series A funding on Paystack, a Nigerian payment startup.
