One Week Left for Tech Startups to Apply AppsAfrica Awards

Mobile and tech startups across Africa have been called to apply for the 3rd AppsAfrica Innovation Awards, which celebrates the best in mobile and tech from across Africa with the deadline fast approaching on September 11th, 2017. 

The Innovation Awards celebrate the best in mobile and tech from across Africa and it is supported by Mobile Monday South Africa and Mobile Ecosystem Forum (MEF).

In 2016, the awards received over 200 entries from 25 countries and 10 winners from South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

AppsAfrica, a leading pan-African technology news portal and advisory service, dedicated to delivering the latest insight on mobile, tech, and innovation in Africa seeks to uncover the industry’s best in class across the continent. Who is disrupting Africa? What is the best app or fintech solution? Which company is making a real social impact?

Past 2016 winners include Flutterwave (Nigeria), BitPesa (Kenya), Domestly (South Africa) and Ask without Shame (Uganda) among others.

Applications are welcome across 12 different categories among, Disruptive Innovation Award, Best Social & Messaging Award, Best African App Award, Enterprise Solution Award, News & Entertainment Award, Fintech Award, Social Impact Award, Brand Campaign Award etc.

An independent panel of judges composed of African experts including tech editors, entrepreneurs, and investors will judge the entries with the short-list finalist announced in October 2017. The final showdown will be happening on the November 6th, 2017 at  Cape Town.

Startups can enter multiple categories and entries will be charged $95 per category entered. Start-ups who are less than 18 months old will not be charged subject to approval from the organizers.

Winners will receive a prestigious Award, global media exposure across multiple media channels and a host of other benefits.
