VertoFX , a B2B currency marketplace with a focus on Africa and emerging markets has raised US$2.1 million seed round led by Accelerated Digital Ventures.
Founded in 2017 by ex-bankers Anthony Oduwole and Ola Oyetayo, VertoFX allows businesses to gain easy access to foreign currencies and make international payments seamlessly, providing clients with real-time and cheaper exchange rates, liquidity and faster settlement periods.
The company which has its headquarters in London, was part of Y-Combinator’s 2019 cohort.
The new funding which had participation from YC and several angel investors from Africa will be used to develop the platform, hire more developers, expand the currencies and into new markets.
