iHub Nairobi has invited applications for the traction camp accelerator program. Traction is a program that seeks to connect high-growth startups with the knowledge, capital, and access to markets.
“The program supports growth-oriented startups in scaling through a rapid cycle competitive curriculum and matches them to business mentor and capital.” iHub said
Applications are open for startups operating in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Somalia.
The program is backed by World Bank Group’s infoDev program and supported by the governments of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Kenya.
The first cohort of this program has already taken place where 21 startups across East Africa among them including Shield Finance, Totohealth, Mobfit and ZayRide were recently in Nairobi to participate in two weeks of intensive training.
Participating startups will receive mentorship from highly experienced business experts and gain access to potential corporate partners and investors. Entrepreneurs will learn through a tailor-made curriculum which covers topics such as investment readiness and investor engagement, navigating negotiations and regulatory environments.
Some of the criteria they will be looking at are user problems the startup is looking to solve and their respective solutions, customer acquisition channels, revenue streams and the team composition among others.
Startups can apply for the program on the VC4Africa platform before the deadline on 15th January 2018.
