The UNICEF Innovation Fund is looking to make up to US$100K equity-free investments (in USD and/or cryptocurrency) to provide early-stage (seed) financing and mentoring to for-profit technology startups that have the potential to benefit humanity.
Applicants have the opportunity to receive a portion of funding in cryptocurrency (bitcoin or ether) through our recently launched CryptoFund.
Given the current global climate and a dramatic shift to a digital world as a result of COVID-19, open-source solutions that address critical needs for society are as important as ever.
UNICEF is looking for startups in any of the UNICEF’s programme countries that have a working, open source blockchain prototype in the areas of finance, increasing transparency and accountability, creation of open source software and distributed ledger technology.
Selected startups will receive US$100,000 in equity-free seed funding intended for prototype testing and validation, and to get it to a stage where the company has proof that the solution works.
They will also tap into a network of mentors who help startup teams develop their business model and strategy to grow their company and ultimately profit.
Interested startups can apply here before July 26th, 2020.
