Airbus BizLab has launched theAfrica4Future initiative; where East African entrepreneurs will have a chance of winning a fully paid 10 day trip to Europe in Oct/Nov 2017 to meet and interact with aerospace experts in a bid to boost their startups.
Airbus BizLab is a global aerospace accelerator, where startups and Airbus intrapreneurs speed up the transformation of innovative ideas into valuable businesses through a hybrid concept that allows close collaboration with smaller organizations.
The Airbus BizLab creates a network of Business Accelerators to provide support to startups and turn these ideas and technologies into commercial reality through a 6-month acceleration program whereby startups have access to a large number of Airbus coaches, experts, and mentors in various domains.
“We are excited to finally bring this programme to East Africa. We have been impressed by some of the innovations coming out of hubs such as Gearbox, Outbox, mLab, C4D Lab among other hubs and university research labs within the region. We are looking forward to receiving inspiring ideas and concepts from Nairobi in the coming weeks,” said Bruno Gutierres, Head of the Airbus BizLabs.
Over the past two years, Airbus BizLab has hosted over 29 startups in its acceleration programme at their locations in Toulouse (France), Hamburg (Germany) and Bangalore (India).
Some of the startups include Jetlife, Quantoz , Skysense (Industrial drones), Quicket (End to end travel experience for passengers) among others.
The startups that shape the future of a growing society, support development and empower mobility through ‘aerospace technologies’ (AERO mobility) will have the opportunity to pitch before industry leaders, decision makers, top investors and key influencers.
The entry categories include Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Satellite Operations and Imagery, 3D Printing, Smart Sensors and Artificial Intelligence.
Interested startups should apply at http://www.novatoafrica.com/africa4future/ before the on or before the 6th September 2017 to get a chance of being shortlisted for the final pitch event.
